日前，从IEEE Inter. Conf. on System, Man and Cybernetics上传来喜讯，上海交通大学电子信息与电气工程学院自动化系苏剑波教授荣获IEEE System Man and Cybernetics 分会颁发的IEEE Best Associate Editor Award, 以奖励他在担任IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics的Associate Editor期间，为把握和提升刊物的学术水平和影响力所做出的卓越努力。

IEEE SMC分会的Best Associate Editor Award是从为 IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics期刊担任 Associate Editor 的103位来自全世界32个国家和地区的学者中遴选出来的。通过考察AE推荐发表的稿件的引用率和学术影响力、处理稿件的及时性、主持的专刊(Special Issue)引领学术方向和形成学术热点的敏感度等几个方面，由历任主编推荐，现任主编提名，并最终通过分会的 AdCom Committee投票产生。

苏剑波教授从2005年起担任IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics的Associate Editor，当时是唯一一位来自大陆的编委，迄今已与4任Editor-in-Chief(主编)共事，在处理稿件的及时性及客观公正方面，受到了历任主编的一致公认。同时他推荐发表的稿件对于提升刊物的学术影响起到了非常重要的作用，SCI影响因子从2005年初的1.108提升到现在的3.781。该刊物的前任主编，IEEE Fellow, Washington State University电子工程和计算机科学学院的Chair Professor Diane J. Cook 曾经评价：“…the selection of special issue topics, and directions for the transactions, Jianbo’s comments are always insightful and on the mark. ….Jianbo’s turnaround time is shorter than average which has been valuable in raising the impact factor for the transactions.  He has been a valuable asset for the transactions and for IEEE. ”

苏剑波教授还担任了Inter. Journal of Humanoid Robotics等其他3本国际主流学术刊物的AE。2014年担任了IEEE 赞助的第10届Inter. Conf. on Intelligent Environment 的General Chair.
